Rules of Golf discussions and meanings • Wrong Putting Green - interference to stance

0
I am in a discussion over the situation where a player is taking relief under Rule 25-3 because their ball lies on a wrong putting green. The disagreement is whether the NPR must take into account the player's stance, or not, before dropping within one club-length of that point, not nearer the hole. The argument for not taking stance into account is based on the fact that Rule 25-3a states that interference to a player's stance or the area of his intended swing is not, of itself, interference under this Rule. My understanding is that stance obviously has to be taken into account to determine the stroke the player would have made from the original position if the condition were not there, as in the Definition of NPR. However, once the ball is dropped within one club-length of this NPR it may roll back towards the wrong putting green and still be in play, even if the player then has to stand on the putting green to make their stroke. Am I right?
