[Men's Golf] Trevecca Men's Golf | Third @ Music City Invitational

GALLATIN, Tenn. - The Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf team is third after the first round of the 2017 Trevecca Music City Invitational at the Foxland Harbor Country Club.

Trevecca is third with a 306 in the field of 14. Maryville University leads with a 297 and McKendree University, last years winner is second with a 301.

Future Great Midwest Athletic Conference member Tiffin University is seventh while current G-MAC members Kentucky Wesleyan College (13th) and Anderson Broaddus University (14th) are also in the field.

Alex Locke of Maryville leads the field with a two-under-par 20 and Logan Price of Tiffin is second at one-under.

John Leverton, playing as an individual, shot the low Trojan round with a 74.

As for the five Trojans in the team competition, Payton Williams led the way with a 75 and is tied for seventh. Trevor Lay is tied for 15th along with Larken Whittemore at 76. Blain Turner was the fourth counting score at 79. Mitchell Hockman shot an 83. The other two individual Trojans playing are Landon Cottrell (77) and Zach Riddle (80).

Zach Riddle tied for the lowest par three scoring average in the field at three-over-par. Trevor Lay and John Leverton tied for the fourth best par five average with a five-under-par total. Leverton and Trevor Lay each had two eagles on the day.

The final round is set for Tuesday and a 10:00 AM shotgun start.
