[Women's Golf] Trevecca Women's Golf 10th, McMahan 11th @ Music City Invitational

NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's golf team opened play in their own Music City Invitational at the Old Hickory Country Club. The talented field includes the 2017 NCAA Division II runner-up in the University of Indianapolis and Grand Valley State University – the 12th place team at nationals. Other teams in the field had individual qualifiers at nationals last spring.

 

Trevecca is tied for 10th, and Rachael McMahan is tied for 11th in the 88-person field.

TREVECCA TEAM   

Rachael McMahan turned in a five-over-par 77 and is 11th overall. The sophomore is tied for 11th in the field on the par three holes with a three-over performance is tied for 10th in birdies. Lexie Shaw is 24th with an 80 in the opening round. Shaw tied for the eighth most pars in the first round with 10. Madalyn Hembree turned in an 87 and Brynn Craven an 89 to round out the counting scores for Trevecca. Sophie Vinson, playing in her first event, shot a 90 and Teagan Perry, playing as an individual, scored an 89.

 

TOURNAMENT FIELD REPORT

The University of Indianapolis leads the field with a 300. They are three better than Grand Valley State University (303), and ten better than the University of Findlay (310). Findlay, a new member of the Great Midwest, owns the low round of the five G-MAC teams in the field. Malone University (327) in seventh joins Findlay ahead of Trevecca. Trevecca is just ahead of Walsh University (336) and Ohio Dominican University (336) who come in 13th.

 

TOURNAMENT LEADERBOARD DETAILS 

Katie Chipman of Grand Valley State shot two-under 70 to lead the field. Annika Haynes of UIndy is second with a one-over-par 73.
