[Men's Golf] Trevecca Men's Golf Leads Salibury Memorial | Blain Turner Top Individual
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf team is playing this weekend at the Dan Salisbury Memorial hosted by the University of Illinois Springfield at the Panther Creek Country Club.
Freshman Blain Turner (FR/Mt. Juliet, TN) opened with a three-under par 69 and leads after the first round and leads the field by four strokes heading into Sunday's final round.
Trevecca leads the team effort with a 293 and are up on host University of Illinois Springfield by 10 strokes.

TREVECCA TEAM
After Blain Turner, Landon Cottrell (SO/Memphis, TN) is tied for second with a one-over par 73. Trevor Lay (SR/Kewanee, IL) is in a tie for sixth just one stroke back of Lay with a two-over par 74. Peyton Williams is 11th overall with a 77 and John Leverton (JR/Pontiac, IL) rounded out the Trojan effort with an 80 in his first appearance of the year.
Turner's 69 is the 12th lowest round in school history. He is now one of four current Trojans who have recorded a 69. Cottrell has three 69's, Williams, two, and Whittemore one. Williams has a 67 and a 68 in his career. The 67 is tied for the second lowest score in school history. Joey Bradley shot a 66 twice for the record.

Illinois Springfield is second at 303 and Wisconsin – Parkside is third with a 307.

The Trojans finish the Dan Salisbury Memorial on Sunday. Next the team heads to the University of Missouri-St. Louis hosted Midwest Regional on October 9-10 at the Fox Run Golf Club in St. Louis, MO. The men's version of the Trevecca Music City Invitational at Foxland Harbor Country Club in Gallatin, TN will be held on October 30-31.
