[Women's Golf] Women's Golf signs Emily Lyons
Owensboro, KY - Emily Lyons has signed her national letter of intent to continue her golf career at Brescia University. Emily is currently finishing her senior year at Owensboro Catholic High School. While a member of the OCHS team, Emily had several great accomplishments. Some of her highlights include lettering as a varsity athlete eight times, winning the Apollo High School Tournament 2015, All-Region Team freshman through junior year, sophomore year received Kentucky Region 2 Player of the Year, and tied for 3rd all A State senior year.
Emily began playing golf at the age of five. She has played for the Go Junior Golf Series and joined the KYJrPGA. During her time on the Go Junior Golf Series, she won multiple tournaments and series championships. Emily also won the KYJrPGA event at Ben Hawes with a score of 74.
Head Coach David Ballou had this to say about Emily, "I am extremely happy to have Emily sign with Brescia. She will come in and make an immediate difference on our squad. I think she could be one of the best players in the conference."
