Get a Ruling • Re: Unplayable ball in the bunker
Friendly 4 ball, (at least it was until this occurred!) A,B playing C&D. A&B putt up to the hole,A ends up 6" away and B 2' away.(C&D have finished the hole both having a 4 (The hole is a par 3 sorry). A does not remove his ball even though its conceded for a 4 and his partner putts out for a 3 thus winning the hole. Player C (me) casually mentions that if he or his partner (D) had required him to do so, player A would have been obliged under Rule 22 to lift his ball before his partner took his putt because A's ball position clearly assisted his partner in making the putt. This was hotly contested by both A&B!! (One of their arguments being that player A would have to have placed a marker down anyway so what was the difference between the ball and the marker!!) Surely Rule 22 is more than clear re this situation? Appreciate any reply.
