TOUR Championship 2017 live stream: Tee times, TV schedule, and how to watch Round 1 online
The quest to crown 2017’s PGA Tour Champion ends in Atlanta.
It isn’t a major, but the 2017 PGA Tour Championship will crown the season’s top overall golfer after a long and grueling run of events. The top 30 players in the FedEx Cup points rankings will battle for one of the game’s most prestigious new titles through four rounds at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
The limited field means the exclusive event has been reduced to 2017’s top golfers. The back end of Thursday’s start list is littered with some of the game’s biggest stars, as Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler, Hideki Matsuyama, and Jon Rahm will all tee off in the tournament’s final four groups.
Thursday’s start will also be missing some familiar names. Past PGA Tour Championship winners like Henrik Stenson, Brandt Snedeker, and Billy Horschel failed to make this year’s cut. Other veterans like Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, and Ernie Els will also sit this one out.
They’ll miss the season’s final event at a course known for being the home club of Bobby Jones. East Lake is a southern course through and through, eschewing tight fairways and deep sand traps for some of the most challenging water holes on the Tour. Errant shots this weekend won’t require digging or cutting through brush to find — they’ll need scuba gear.
