[Women's Golf] Abi Scheidecker takes second to get SAU second straight runner-up finish
For the second straight event, a St. Ambrose golfer took second overall to lead the Bees to a runner-up team finish.
Coming on the heels of Emily Jean's second-place showing at the Viterbo Invitational last Monday, it was Abigail Scheidecker's turn this week.
The freshman closed with a final-round 85 to end the two-day Clarke Fall Invitational with a 172, four shots behind the individual medalist but three shots ahead of the third-place finisher.
Jean gave the Bees a pair of top-five finishers. She matched Scheidecker with a first-round 87 before slipping to a closing 90 to end in a tie for fourth place with a 177.
The two helped St. Ambrose to second place in the tournament played at the Eagle Ridge Resort North Course in Galena, Ill. SAU led the tournament by a single shot after firing a 359 Sunday. But Wis.-Platteville overtook the Bees with a 358 Monday to win the team title with a 718. St. Ambrose finished second among the four teams with a 729.
