[Women's Golf] Tigers showing improvement at first tournament
Georgetown College women's golf swung into action Monday and Tuesday with the Lindsey Wilson Invitational at the Pines in Columbia, Ky. It was a great start for the Tigers, seeing progress from a year ago. In the 10-team field, GC was seventh – 13 strokes back from Top 5.
Sophomore Baylee Salyers finished in the Top 10 individually and shot a collegiate best round of 75 on Tuesday. She finished tied for seventh with a 154 for the two days. Salyers opened her Tiger career a year ago by shooting a pair of 84s.
"Knowing in just a season how much confidence Baylee has gained and to trim 14 strokes off from her first tournament is exciting," said GC coach Marlene Schulte. "If she keeps working like she has, big things are in store for her."
