Gentlemen, I am in full agreement with Thom. As I posted above the fact that A got his wires crossed on who loses the hole IMO is irrelevant. A has made a timely claim and the Committee now have to apply the RoG to the facts reported. A will state his ball struck the flagstick whilst B [with A's authority] attended it. B will no doubt concur [and confirm it was not a deliberate action] and surely these are the facts they Rule on. The fact that B wanted to disregard the breach and A misunderstood the Rule are now history, IMO there can only be one outcome.
