British Open 2017 weather forecast: Rainy and windy day two
What would the Open Championship be without some rain and wind across the United Kingdom.
Rain and wind are expected to impact the second round of the Open Championship at The Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport. There could be more rain later in the tournament as well as rain.
FRIDAY -- SECOND ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
Winds will be one of the biggest stories coming out of the southeast between 15 to 25 mph and there could be gusts of 30 to 40 mph. Rain, even thunder, is possible Friday especially towards the afternoon. Temperatures will reach the low to middle 60s under cloudy to mostly cloudy skies.
SATURDAY -- THIRD ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
We will see a slight break from the rain Saturday. There is a chance of an isolated after shower or storm. Most of the time should be dry with a mix of sunshine and clouds. Winds will be out of the south-southeast between 5 to 10 mph.
SUNDAY -- FINAL ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
Showers and possible thunderstorms return for Sunday. Winds will change direction and it will be cooler into the low to middle 60s. Winds will be out of the northwest between 10 to 20 mph with occasional gusts up to 25 mph. Skies will be cloudy to mostly cloudy and the best chance for showers and storms will be towards the afternoon.
