[General] Twelve Bearcat Programs Named NAIA Scholar-Teams
Owensboro, Ky. - Twelve Brescia University athletic programs earned recognition as NAIA Scholar-Teams, recently announced by the NAIA. The following teams include: Women's Indoor Track & Field with a 3.67, Women's Outdoor Track & Field with a 3.40, Women's Volleyball with a 3.40, Men's Golf with a 3.33, Women's Golf with a 3.27, Men's Outdoor Track & Field with a 3.21, Softball with a 3.16, Division II Women's Basketball with a 3.15, Men's Cross Country with a 3.13, Women's Cross Country with a 3.11, Women's Soccer with a 3.11, and Men's Indoor Track & Field with a 3.07.

To earn this national level of recognition at the NAIA level takes a driven commitment and dedication by our students to their course work. We look forward to that continued success in the classroom and on the field of play by our student-athletes," stated by Brian Skortz, Athletic Director.
1,677 teams that have earned the distinction for Scholar-Teams for the 2016-17 academic year.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
