American Century Championship TV schedule: How to watch online, live stream and more

Let's watch a big golf party on Sunday before we get serious at The Open.

Sunday may be one of the most congested golf days of the entire year. Granted, there may be more eyeballs next Sunday on Royal Birkdale for the third of the four men's major championships. But this Sunday is about as deep as it gets on the calendar with a PGA Tour event, arguably the European Tour's strongest event, the LPGA's most prestigious major, a senior major championship, and a Web.com Tour event.

So yes, between the Scottish Open and John Deere Classic and U.S. Women's Open and Senior Players, there will be some options for golf watchin' on Sunday afternoon. But maybe you want a break from those more serious matters and watch a big party with a bunch of top athletes and some golf shots interrupting.

The American Century Championship has become the strongest celebrity event on the celebrity golf event circuit, which is a thing. There are a handful out there, but this one has carved out quite the spot in mid-July and gets everyone to keep coming back while often turning down some big names who want to elbow their way into the field. Selling Lake Tahoe in mid-July is not exactly difficult, but this has still become a tradition with a reliable stable of stars.

This is an NBC event and they'll have the Scottish Open run right into the ACC on Sunday afternoon. The Euro Tour should finish up at Dundonald right around 3 p.m. ET, and that's when, well, you'll get quite the dramatic transition in both scene and seriousness when the broadcast picks up from Tahoe. It's a big month for NBC and Golf Channel, which has this loaded European Tour stretch, their one men's major next week at The Open, and a whole swath of events on the regular Tours they always cover. Then you mix in this annual party and they have golf talent and broadcast operations spread out all over the globe.

Sunday's broadcast should feature a lot of Stephen Curry, Justin Timberlake, Tony Romo, Aaron Rodgers, Charles Barkley, and leaders Mark Mulder, Mardy Fish, and Derek Lowe. But again, this is not some serious broadcast — there are plenty of interludes throughout the afternoon.

It's a nice alternative before The British Open and a good way to see some of the best athletes in the world during their offseasons. Here are your coverage options for Sunday's final round:
