Branden Grace was permitted relief from a lining in a bunker at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth (R24-2b(ii). Whether he should have been penalised for building a stance prior to uncovering the bunker lining with his digging-in is open to argument, but I am more interested as to whether the official should have permitted him to have his footsteps in the sand raked before dropping his ball in taking the relief.
