Vernon NelsonJune 8, 1946 - May 28, 2016It is with deep sadness to share the news that we lost Vernon "Coach" Nelson to his battle with cancer this past Saturday morning, May 28, 2016. Coach was a compassionate, loving and generous person who had a huge heart for youth. For many decades he brought big smiles and life lessons to countless kids in the Washington, DC community. He was a 10-year member of our Golf Course Specialists and GolfDC Academy team, where he was super popular with our junior
