Armchair Discussion: Could they?

Could modern pro golfers maintain the under-par scores we currently see with, say, 1960s-era clubs? I enjoy watching the "Classic" rounds on the Golf Channel, and although they are grainy, you can still make out the different lies, swings, and club designs of the era.
