Check out Nigeria's latest ranking after the Russia 2018 World Cup

- France emerge number one team in the world in FIFA ranking

- Argentina and Germany have dropped out of the top 10 position

- The Super Eagles slip two places to go down further in the chart

In the latest FIFA ranking released on the Thursday, August 16, France is now the best team in the World after emerging World Cup winners in Russia.

Belgium, Brazil, Croatia and Uruguay were ranked second, third, fourth and fifth respectively as they completed the top five in the chart.

Gareth Southgate's England are in sixth while Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal are sixth as Switzerland, Spain and Denmark complete the top 10 positions.

Argentina who were knocked out of the World Cup in the last 16 by France dropped to 11th while Germany slipped 14 places to come 15th.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria dropped two places from 47th to 49th alongside World Cup hosts, Russia.

Gernot Rohr's side were eliminated in the group stages of the tournament managing just a win in three matches.

The highest ranked African sides remain Tunisia and Senegal who were both ranked 24th respectively.

Democratic Republic of Congo are in 37th position, while Ghana and Morocco are in 45th and 46th position with Cameroon ranked 47th.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that the Super Eagles of Nigeria have maintained the 47th position in the recently released FIFA ranking on Thursday May 17.

Gernot Rohr's side was ranked in the same 47th globally and sixth in Africa when the last list was released and they still maintained the same position in the latest ranking.
