World Cup cheat sheet: Japan’s upset, Russia rolling and every goal of the day
The final group to enter World Cup action finally gets underway, and the hosts play their second match.
We’re just through the first full round of group stage action in the 2018 World Cup, and the drama is still coming.
Japan upset Colombia as Group H entered the fray on Tuesday, despite a late appearance by James Rodriguez. In the next matchup, Senegal topped Poland, 2-1, thanks in part to an improbable goal. Closing out the day, Russia overran a fun Egypt team, 3-1, that had Mo Salah back in the lineup.
