Mainoo’s new contract confirmed by club

0 17

Manchester United have today confirmed that Kobbie Mainoo has put pen to paper on a new contract which will see him at the club until 2031.

Mainoo, who celebrated his 21st birthday earlier this month, has been at the club since he was six-years-old, but his future at Old Trafford was in doubt under previous manager Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese coach’s system meant Mainoo had displace captain Bruno Fernandes to get a game.

With the World Cup approach and Mainoo, who had started the Euros final for England less than two years ago, had looked for a loan move in January to get some playing time. Fortunately, Amorim was sacked and Michael Carrick found a place for the young midfielder.

Since then, United have conceded considerably fewer goals per game and have picked up more points than every team in the league.

With playing time no longer an issue, Mainoo gladly committed his future to his boyhood club, with the official social media account posting a teaser about the impending news.

The post Mainoo’s new contract confirmed by club first appeared on Republik Of Mancunia: A Manchester United Blog.
