Tottenham star insists the team is evolving under Thomas Frank after dismal North London Derby
A senior Tottenham star has weighed in on the club’s back-to-back defeats in the North London derby and against Paris Saint-Germain.
It was all doom and gloom surrounding Spurs following their 4-1 loss against Arsenal, with many suggesting that Thomas Frank is not the right fit for Tottenham.
However, even though Spurs conceded five against PSG, there is a bit more positivity about the display the team produced in Paris.
That also extends to Frank, who praised his players for the aggression and character they showed against PSG, insisting that it was exactly how he wants Tottenham to play.
Richarlison says Tottenham are moving in the right direction
Richarlison, who found the back of the net in both matches, which included a goal-of-the-season contender against Arsenal, has seconded his manager, suggesting that there were clear improvements on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old insisted that the team is evolving with each passing week under the new regime and admitted that he and his teammates are now focused on returning to winning ways against Fulham.
Richarlison told TNT Sports Brasil following the 5-3 loss to the Parisians: “It was much better than the last derby in London. I think the team evolved well. We managed to score three goals. Unfortunately, we couldn’t hold the result, but you could see the team’s evolution.
“Now we have to rest, because on Saturday we already have a game, already have the Premier League, and we have to get back to winning ways again.”
Richarlison believes club form will take him to the World Cup
Richarlison has been named in every Brazil squad since Carlo Ancelotti took over as the Selecao head coach.
However, he did not play a single minute during the last international break, and reports suggested that the Tottenham man is at risk of missing out on the World Cup.
When asked about making the cut for next summer’s tournament, Richarlison responded: “With all this confidence, the work flows, the goals come, the assists come. Everything gets lighter. I’m going to keep working hard to maintain this high confidence so I can help the team during the games.”
“I have to do my best here at the club so I can arrive at a high level with the national team. Thank God things are going well and I hope to continue like this, focused, training well and doing my best here.”
