Jaylen Brown, Derrick White Pop Up On Injury Report Before Timberwolves Clash

The Boston Celtics, winners of five of their past six games, are on a roll. As was expected to be the case entering the season, Jaylen Brown and Derrick White have typically been the barometers for whether or not the Celtics are winning games.

As the new focal points of Boston’s offense, Brown and White have had more responsibilities than ever before this season. Brown has excelled so far (28.2 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 4.3 APG, 49.5%), while White appears to be finding his way after a slow start (16 PPG, 5.1 APG, 4.2 RPG, 36.2%).

It has certainly helped that the C’s have had Brown and White available for all 18 games so far this season, but that may change on Saturday. That’s because both guys were added to the injury report on Friday, with Brown questionable due to low back spasms and White probable with a right calf contusion.

Being without one or both of these guys would be a big blow for the Celtics, especially considering how they are going up against a tough Minnesota Timberwolves team. Boston is going to need everyone at its disposal on the court, which is why these injury issues loom so large.

Elsewhere on the injury report, center Neemias Queta is questionable as well, thanks to a left ankle sprain he suffered in the team’s win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday. Jayson Tatum, of course, is still out as he works his way back from a torn Achilles tendon.

Boston’s chances of taking down Minnesota will likely depend on whether or not Brown and White are able to play. The Celtics will tip off against the Timberwolves at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
