Chivu actions speak louder than words in strong Inter start
Cristian Chivu had to respond to a difficult start for the Inter season with three defeats, but he can be proud at the progress seen to top the table and have a perfect Champions League record.
The results are all that really count in the end, and the coach who took over from Simone Inzaghi has stepped up in difficult circumstances.
A fresh Inter start under Chivu
Despite those three early defeats in Serie A (too many, admittedly), Inter are back in first place alongside Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma.
In the Champions League, their march has been a triumphant one, with four wins out of four, and only one goal conceded on the European stage.
It is true that Chivu delayed the process of introducing summer signings and has perhaps not given them enough playing time, but this situation was to be expected too.
He had taken over from Inzaghi just days before the FIFA Club World Cup, but he can even improve upon the results of his predecessor, winning the Scudetto at his first attempt after passing on a different football philosophy.
Meanwhile, he shrugs off words and prefers to let his actions speak.
