Patriots Received Individual Gifts From Mike Vrabel Following Win
The New England Patriots are operating under strenuous circumstances this week, as they’ll quickly turn the page from their victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday and start preparation for a divisional matchup with the New York Jets on Thursday.
It’ll be tough, but nothing that a blue-collar mentality can’t fix…
Mike Vrabel helped instill that mentality this week, as he supplied each and every player with customized work shirts that had their names embroidered on the front — you know, kind of like the ones Terry Crews wore in Everybody Hates Chris.
“I’m a gift giver. I like to give gifts,” Vrabel cracked during his media availability on Tuesday, per team-provided video. “… We got the guys some of those shirts. I though it’d be fun, I liked it.”
Cleveland Browns special teams coordinator Bubba Ventrone did something similar for coaches and players last season, which helped inspire the idea.
“I thought that was a good-looking shirt,” Vrabel said. “I got one in brown last year, but I thought it would look better in blue.”
The Patriots won’t just have new shirts to wear inside the building, but will be rocking new work attire when they take the field for Thursday Night Football — when they sport their new “Nike Rivalries” uniforms for the first time against the Jets.
