Man Utd to make an offer for 26yo Brazilian star, €40m would seal transfer - report
Manchester United could sign a new midfielder during the transfer window.
The Red Devils have had a productive summer and have already made two marquee signings.
Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo should add plenty of goals and creativity to the ranks.
There could be more additions to the squad, and Takvim report that the Red Devils are weighing up an approach to sign Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara.
United have been touted to make a formal bid in the next few days, but the outlet don’t mention what the Mancunian giants are prepared to offer for the Brazilian.
Galatasaray recently made a statement by paying a Turkish football record fee of €75 million for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, and are unlikely to sell Sara on the cheap.
They plan to hold out for at least €40m to offload the former Norwich City man.
Sara to United could be agent-driven, won’t suit the club
The 26-year-old joined the Turkish heavyweights from Norwich in the Championship last summer. He had a solid debut campaign with two goals and 10 assists from 45 appearances across all competitions.
His form has reportedly caught the eye of several Premier League clubs. Aston Villa were linked with him earlier this summer, and United are now mentioned as potential front-runners to land his signature.
However, we believe the speculation could be agent-driven to secure him a big-club move.
Sara is primarily a central midfielder, and his stats are not that impressive with Galatasaray. He had a passing accuracy of only 83 percent and won just over 40 percent of his duels last term.
The Brazilian made only three recoveries and less than one tackle per game. However, the big concern was his tendency to lose possession. He was dispossessed 13.7 times per league appearance.
United need a player who can control proceedings in midfield with precise distribution and positional awareness. They require a holding midfielder, and Sara is definitely not the answer to their problems.
Galatasaray and his agent are probably using United as a negotiation tool to bump up his price. He could still end up in the Premier League, but Ruben Amorim’s side are highly unlikely to pursue a deal.
