Stirling University v Queen’s Park – Match preview

0 2

QUEEN’S PARK play Stirling University at the University of Stirling (UOS) Sports Grounds on Sunday, 20th July in a pre-season friendly. Kick-off is at 2pm.

The Spiders are on the road tomorrow as they travel to face Stirling University in their second pre-season fixture of 2025.

Queen’s will look to build on last weekend’s performance away against Hamilton Academical, where they secured a well-deserved 1-1 draw against a strong SWPL1 outfit.

When asked about the team’s result against Accies last week, head coach Iain Robinson, said: “Last week’s fixture against Hamilton was a good runout for us in terms of minutes and the quality of performance from the group.

“For us as a group, the only thing missing from last week was the result, which we’re hoping will come in the next few games as the players begin to get more comfortable in the final third.”

With two new signings and the return of Charlize McFadyen from injury, Robinson was feeling positive about the team’s quality last time out, he said: “Both Summer (Thomson) and Jemma (McQuillan) were excellent in their first appearances for the club.

“Jemma’s quality in 1v1 actions and Summer’s ability to find clever spaces were big reasons we brought them into the club. It was good to see them display this on their debut. Obviously, it was also good to see Summer cap her performance with a well-deserved goal.”

Entry to tomorrow’s match is free.
