Tottenham Hotspur take summer sales up to £18m after official exit announcement
Tottenham Hotspur confirm the departure of promising young goalkeeper Josh Keeley, with the 21-year-old sealing a permanent move to Luton Town after impressing in League One last season.
It was reported this week that Tottenham Hotspur were in advanced talks with Luton Town over a £1m deal for goalkeeper Josh Keeley.
The 22-year-old shot-stopper spent last season out on loan in the EFL League One with Leyton Orient, where he was part of a side that managed to reach the play-off round for promotion, although the O’s ultimately fell short following defeat to Charlton Athletic.
Keeley impressed last term, keeping 16 clean sheets in 39 league appearances, and the young goalkeeper even grabbed a goal in Leyton Orient’s second-round FA Cup tie, scoring a 99th-minute equaliser against Oldham.

Spurs were reported to have been negotiating a new deal with Josh Keeley, but an agreement could not be reached with the 22-year-old.
Tottenham Hotspur have now confirmed that Josh Keeley has completed his move to EFL League One side Luton Town.
The 22-year-old, who joined Tottenham’s academy at the start of the 2022/23 season, has now seen his time in N17 come to an end, after signing for Luton Town on a permanent deal.
Spurs are believed to have included a sell-on clause in the deal, as they remain confident the Ireland international could develop into a Premier League-calibre player in the future. However, Tottenham will only claim £1m from the sale for now.
Spurs goalkeeping depth remains strong after Josh Keeley exit
The young goalkeeper never played a competitive game for the Spurs senior squad, but featured 32 times for Tottenham’s U21 side.
With Keeley having been sold, Spurs have now completed their second outgoing of the summer window, as Thomas Frank continues to shape his squad.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was sold for £17 million earlier in the window, and now Tottenham would be looking to offload a few other players as well.
The goalkeeping department at Spurs remains well-stocked, with Guglielmo Vicario firmly established as first choice, winter signing Antonin Kinsky providing competition as second choice, and club-trained Brandon Austin completing the trio of senior options in the first-team squad.
