Como beat Lille 3-2 in first pre-season friendly
Cesc Fabregas and Como had a perfect start to pre-season with a thrilling 3-2 friendly victory over Lille, including a brace from Ivan Azon.
Few clubs in Italy have spent more over the summer than the Lariani, who made it into Serie A in 2024 and are now determined to climb the table even more.
Como impress in pre-season debut
There were quite a few debutants in the side this evening, including Jayden Addai, who came on after just 15 minutes for injured Alieu Fadera.
Veteran Gabriel Strefezza opened the scoring, then Azon tapped in at the back post from Alessandro Gabrielloni’s assist.
It was to be a very special night for Azon, who joined Como in February from Real Zaragoza without ever getting a chance to play in Serie A due to injury.
He went on to complete his brace and win the match 3-2, with Lille on target thanks to Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Lachaab.
Former Milan striker Olivier Giroud was in the squad, but did not come on for the French team.
