“Medical today” – Man United finalising exciting transfer, announcement to follow – Fabrizio Romano
Manchester United are finalising their transfer move for Brentford right winger Bryan Mbeumo, with the player set for a medical today.
That’s according to the latest update from reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, who says an official announcement could follow soon.
“Bryan Mbeumo set for main formal steps as Manchester United player with medical today. Contract until June 2030 plus option until 2031 to follow next ahead of club statement,” Romano posted on X this morning.
The Cameroon international has long been linked with the Red Devils and an agreement was finally struck yesterday, as first broken by David Ornstein of the Athletic.
Now Romano has another update as Mbeumo’s move to Man Utd edges closer to completion…

Mbeumo’s arrival is a big boost for United manager Ruben Amorim, who now has two new attacking players this summer, having also brought in Matheus Cunha from Wolves earlier in the window.
Can Manchester United build on Mbeumo and Cunha signings?
While Cunha and Mbeumo look like valuable additions, replacing flops like Jadon Sancho and Antony in United’s attack, it’s also clear that more new signings will be needed.
Romano has posted about this, with the Italian journalist claiming that a striker will now be a priority for the club, as well as outgoings…

It certainly looks just as important for MUFC to make the right sales as well as the right purchases this summer if they are to start the new season with the kind of squad they want.
Amorim inherited a difficult situation when he took the job at Old Trafford, and it’s clear that so many of these current players need to be shipped out to help with the rebuild.
Cunha and Mbeumo’s arrivals look like a good start, but there’s still plenty of work for United to do in the weeks ahead.
