Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer stance on Yoane Wissa has now changed

0 31

Journalist Tom Barclay has suggested that Tottenham’s stance on Yoane Wissa has changed slightly following the developments over the last week and a half.

It emerged last Wednesday that Tottenham had turned their attention to Yoane Wissa, who is thought to be keen on following Thomas Frank to Spurs.

Immediately following that update, Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth claimed that Spurs are getting ready to open talks with Brentford over Wissa.

However, since then, it does not appear as if the Lilywhites have taken significant steps towards signing the striker, with the likes of Newcastle now stepping up their interest in Wissa.

Yoane Wissa is now less of a priority for Tottenham

Many Spurs fans might have assumed that the club’s inaction in their pursuit of the Brentford star may be because Tottenham are focused on getting the Morgan Gibbs-White deal over the line.

However, The Sun’s Tom Barclay has now taken to social media to reveal that Wissa is now less of a priority for Spurs after they secured Mohammed Kudus from West Ham.

The journalist pointed out that the Ghanaian can play centrally, and with Frank also having Mathys Tel, Dominic Solanke and Richarlison at his disposal, the Bees star is no longer as pressing a need for the Danish coach.

Why Spurs may need Wissa despite landing Mohammed Kudus

Frank does have an abundance of options for the number nine role, but that may soon change.

Over the last 24 hours, Palmerias have stepped up their efforts to land Richarlison, and the Brazilian side are hopeful that they can get a deal done for the Spurs striker.

If the former Everton man leaves, one would not be surprised if Frank asks for another centre-forward to be signed, given that he needs a large squad to cope with the demands of Champions League football.

The post Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer stance on Yoane Wissa has now changed appeared first on Spurs Web.
