Cubs Seemingly Troll Red Sox Pitcher Before Start Of Series

Josh Winckowski hasn’t appeared in a major league game since April 23.

The Chicago Cubs either weren’t aware, or decided to get petty prior to the start of their series with the Boston Red Sox on Friday.

Winckowski, who infamously said Wrigley Field was “stock standard” during his first trip to the ballpark in 2022, was listed as a starting pitcher on the stadium’s video board before the start of the unofficial second half — despite having been placed on the injured list three months ago.

NESN’s Jahmai Webster provided evidence of the prank.

Winckowski won’t be able to defend himself on the field, as he’s still in the middle of his throwing progression, according to to MassLive’s Chris Cotillo.

How do you feel about the joke, Red Sox fans? Let us know in the comments!
