Napoli confirmed the purchase of Italy striker Lucca on loan with an option to buy from Udinese.
Napoli sign Lucca: the official statement
“SSC Napoli have announced that the club have signed Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese Calcio on loan with an option to buy,” the defending Serie A champions said in a statement on Friday.
Lucca is Napoli’s fourth summer signing after Kevin De Bruyne, Luca Marianucci and Noa Lang.
The fifth new purchase is incoming as Bologna centre-back Sam Beukema is currently undergoing medical tests at Villa Stuart in Rome before completing a permanent move to the Stadio Maradona.
Napoli secured a deal to sign Lucca after dropping Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez as the Reds refused to lower their €50m asking price.
Lucca’s career so far
Football Italia reported on Thursday that the transfer package for Lucca’s move to Napoli is in the region of €35m, including add-ons.
The Italian striker has netted 20 goals in 70 Serie A appearances with Udinese.
The 24-year-old has also played for Pisa, Palermo, Ajax and Vicenza.
Lucca made his senior Italy debut in October 2024 and has five international appearances.
