Fleet Captain Hilary Knight Voted PWHL Forward Of Year Finalist
Boston Fleet captain Hilary Knight emerged one step closer to end-of-season hardware Tuesday.
The PWHL announced that Knight, Sarah Fillier and Marie-Philip Poulin were voted as finalists for the Forward of the Year award.
Knight showed improvement from her inaugural PWHL season when she went from 11 points in 24 games to 29 points in 30 games. She tied Fillier with the most points in the regular season while leading Boston with 15 goals, including four power-play tallies. The 35-year-old also recorded 14 assists.
The most memorable moment of the season for Knight was when she became the first PHWL player to score a hat trick as part of a record-tying four-point performance on March 5. Knight tied for third in the league with seven multi-point games and tied for second with three multi-goal games.

Fillier has a solid case with her aforementioned accolade of co-points leader. The 2024 No. 1 overall pick also was co-leader in assists with 16, and she became the only player in PWHL history to score in five consecutive games. The New York Sirens forward also led the league with five power-play goals.
Poulin became the first two-time finalist for the Forward of the Year award. The Montréal Victoire captain led the PWHL with 19 goals and added seven assists. She scored a record six game-winning goals to help the Victoire earn the top seed in the PWHL playoffs. Poulin set a PWHL record for the fastest goal scored just 11 seconds into action on May 3, and her 10 goals in the second period were the most scored in any single period by any player this season. The 34-year-old set new standards with a record plus-minus rating (plus-17), most shootout goals (five), and in the faceoff circle in both attempts (669) and wins (403).
A selection committee cast their votes on the six regular-season PWHL awards, and the winners will be announced on June 25 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ottawa.
