Everton comes up with alternative plan to sign Richarlison from Tottenham

0 4

We have seen reports over recent days that Everton are not in a position to afford Tottenham’s asking price for Richarlison this summer, and a journalist has now revealed that the Toffees may come up with an alternative plan to take the forward back to Goodison Park.

Like a lot of the Tottenham squad, Richarlison has returned to full fitness just at the right time, and he may yet play a key role in the North London club’s pursuit of Europa League glory.

However, the striker’s future is thought to lie away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with reports claiming that Richarlison is now looking for an exit route from Spurs.

Several outlets have claimed over recent months that Richarlison is on Everton’s summer wishlist ahead of the club’s move to their brand new stadium in Bramley-Moore Dock.

Everton’s alternative plan to sign Richarlison

Just a couple of days ago, it was revealed by Ben Jacobs that Tottenham want £40m-£45m for the 27-year-old this summer, which is likely to make him too expensive for the Toffees (GiveMeSport).

Now, Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett has taken to social media to reveal that David Moyes’s side may come up with an alternative strategy to sign Richarlison.

The journalist has claimed that Everton could look to sign the Spurs man on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy, with the Merseyside club seeing it as a potential insurance policy against the forward’s injury problems over recent years.

Will Tottenham be open to loaning out Richarlison?

While there is no doubt that Spurs would prefer to cash in on the striker, they might have to agree to a loan move if they want to get maximum value for the player.

Richarlison’s injury woes will put off a lot of suitors from paying a big fee for him, while his stock is also not particularly high at the moment, owing to a lack of regular game time.

He is a proven performer at the Premier League level and is likely to score goals back at Everton, which might help the North London club cut as much of their losses on the player as possible.

A potential loan move, along with a £40m obligation to buy if he meets the required appearance criteria, may be the best compromise.
