Re: Wright and Dykes

"It’s sad how I will remember him. His record is nearly 1 in 7 for us or something because he’s mustered ten goals in four seasons."
Ergo you will remember him as a one goal in seven striker, where those stats are fudged quite significantly by the fact that a lot of his appearances at Blues (especially in recent years) will have been cameos.
And it is daft to hold against him the fact that he scored against us whilst playing for another club, because that was his job. Almost as daft as putting that Bolton game into the BSHL era, considering that the acronym BSHL never came into existence until February 2017 (nearly three years after that Bolton game). Funny how easy it is to fall into those sorts of traps, isn't it.
Without him scoring the best part of 20 goals in the Clotet season we go down. Without him scoring near enough every game once Bowyer took over at the back end of the pandemic season we go down. Without his efforts on the pitch, and from what I understand off the pitch, to maintain standards and keep an increasingly haphazard, spluttering show going during the dark years we go down. If we'd have gone down pre-Knighthead then God knows where would be right now.
He should be remembered as nothing less than a Birmingham City cult hero.
