Pundit admits Spurs star would be his ‘worst nightmare’ to play against
Tim Sherwood has admitted that he would have dreaded playing against one Tottenham midfielder.
Spurs star has been one of the Players of the Season so far
While there is no doubt that Dejan Kulusevski has been Tottenham‘s best player so far this season, following his performance against Manchester City, one can legitimately now start asking if he has been the best player across the Premier League this campaign.
The 24-year-old appears to be getting better every week, not only bringing creativity to the Spurs side and chipping in with goals and assists, but also constantly hassling and hurrying players when he is out of possession.
Tim Sherwood makes Dejan Kulusevski confession
While Kulusevski has received a lot of praise for his creativity, his engine and his wand of a left foot, one underappreciated part of his game is his strength.
The Swede is almost impossible to muscle off the ball as Josko Gvardiol found out in Tottenham’s 4-0 win against the Premier League champions on Saturday.
It is Kulusevski’s physical strength that Sherwood offered as the main reason why he would have hated playing against the Tottenham man.
The pundit told Optus Sport’s The Weekend Wrap about the Spurs midfielder: “He has everything. He must really be enjoying this role under Postecoglou, he drifts, he’s so strong.
“When you get up close to him he’s 6ft 3 or 6 ft 4. He’s strong, quick, he can dribble, he would be my worst nightmare, I would hate to play against him.”
A lot of people still sleeping on Kulusevski
While those who watch Kulusevski every week are aware of just how good the attacker has become this season, a lot of pundits and opposition fans are still yet to wake up to his improvements.
For example, Simon Jordan said a couple of days ago on talkSPORT that he does not think the former Juventus man is good enough to start regularly for the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.
You will undoubtedly see that change over the next few months as people wake up to the fact that they are watching a genuine world-class player in action.
