Tottenham labelled ‘biggest frauds in the football league’ after Man City win
Oasis star Noel Gallagher has unleashed on Tottenham Hotspur on the back of their thumping win over his beloved Manchester City.
Tottenham always find a way against Man City
If one asks Pep Guardiola which side he has dreaded facing the most through his extremely successful spell at Manchester City, his answer might well be Tottenham Hotspur.
The Lilywhites seem to find ways to overcome the Premier League champions time and again, and they have done so with different styles of football under various managers.
They stunned Man City once again last Saturday, emerging 4-0 winners despite the fact that they were without some key players.
Noel Gallagher is sick of Spurs
Like most Man City fans, Gallagher is sick of the sight of Tottenham, calling them ‘frauds’ for somehow managing to turn it on against Guardiola’s men.
The Oasis star suggested that he expects them to come unstuck against Fulham despite their brilliant performance against his side.
Gallagher told talkSPORT: “The whole entire thing seems to have fallen off a cliff but if we hadn’t won four leagues in a row, I’d be worried. This is an inevitable drop off of maybe five or ten per cent and on Saturday, the one team we don’t want to play as City fans after four defeats in a row is Tottenham at home.
“They do it to us every time they come there, they’re the biggest frauds in the football league. They’ll get battered by Fulham at the weekend, no problem. But they always turn up for us. I wasn’t expecting to win that game, I certainly wasn’t expecting to lose but 4-0 was a shocker.”
Do Spurs have a mental edge over City?
At this point, it would not be unfair to say that the current City squad have a mental block against Spurs, having been scared many times over the years.
This City team do not lose many games, which is why defeats hurt a lot more and stay longer in their memories. As soon as they concede a goal against Spurs, they start thinking ‘Oh no, here we go again!’, which is what appeared to happen on Saturday.
