Inter Milan want to tempt Tottenham into Guglielmo Vicario swap deal
Inter Live say that Inter Milan could tempt Tottenham Hotspur into giving them Guglielmo Vicario by offering one of their star defenders to the Premier League side in return.
Vicario still has some doubters
While Vicario has proven his world-class shot-stopping ability since his move to Spurs in 2023 and has also enabled Postecoglou to play out from the back, questions continue to be raised about his decision-making when dealing with crosses.
The Tottenham number one continues to struggle to deal with set pieces and corner-kicks and does not inspire confidence in his defenders.
Opposition teams will continue to target the Italians during those situations and according to reports, many at Hotspur Way acknowledge that the former Empoli man is extremely reluctant to attack crosses and needs to improve that part of his game (Daily Mail).
Tottenham to consider shock sale?
It has now been claimed by Inter Live that Vicario could head to Inter as a part of a shock swap deal that could see Benjamin Pavard head in the other direction.
The report says that the shot-stopper is valued at around £29m by the North London club but they could be tempted to offload him if the Nerazzurri include Pavard in the deal.
It is explained that the Frenchman’s ability to feature in multiple positions across the backline would make him a very useful option for Ange Postecoglou’s men.
Vicario one of Spurs’ leaders
However, there is no doubt that Vicario is an extremely valuable member of the Tottenham side, not just because of what he offers on the pitch but also because of his strengths off it.
The goalkeeper has quickly emerged as one of the leaders of the Tottenham side and is one of the most senior players at the club.
In fact, Alasdair Gold even recently revealed on his YouTube channel that Postecoglou has added Vicario to Spurs’ leadership group, which consists of Son Heung-min, Cristian Romero and James Maddison.
