0 2

The final whistle has just blown following the first forty-five minutes of action between Tottenham Hotspur and Qarabag.

European football under the lights of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is always a special occasion and both teams are now preparing for the second half of the Europa League tie.

We have analysed the performances of the Tottenham players over the course of the first half in North London and have given each individual player a rating on a scale of 1-10.

Ange Postecoglou’s side head into the changing room currently 1-0 ahead courtesy of Brennan Johnson, with Spurs down to ten men following Radu Dragusin’s early red card.

Spurs player ratings vs Qarabag

Guglielmo Vicario: No rest for the Spurs number one tonight. Called into action for the first time on 35 mins when he got to the ball before Juninho. Did well to save Davies’ blushes. 6.

Archie Gray: Asked again to operate at right-back and has looked really comfortable driving the ball further up the pitch on more than one occasion Has linked up well with Johnson. 7.

Radu Dragusin: Took a heavy touch and pulled back Juninho which saw him sent off inside the first seven minutes. 1.

Micky van de Ven: The only defensive survivor from the weekend. His pace has become even more important with Qarabag often breaking in behind. Showed great anticipation when he cleared with his head just before the break. 7.

Ben Davies: Started the evening as a left-back, but has since tucked into a central role following Dragusin’s red. Can consider himself fortunate when he was bailed out by Vicario just on the half time whistle. 5.

Yves Bissouma: Operating as the deeper of the central pair between himself and Sarr. 5.

Pape Matar Sarr Started the press which led to Johnson’s opener. 6.

Lucas Bergvall: You have to feel sorry for the young Swede, replaced on 11 minutes by Destiny Udogie due to Dragusin’s red card. 5.

Heung-min Son: A relatively quiet half from the Spurs captain. 5.

Dominic Solanke: Did well to win the ball back, dive forward and tee up Johnson. His work rate has been impressive. 6.

Brennan Johnson: A third goal in as many games. Could have had a second goal when he rounded the onrushing goalkeeper and should have found the target. 7.

Destiny Udogie: An early first-half replacement. Did just enough to put off Juninho when he looked to have a clear shot on goal. 6.
