Report explains when Antonio Conte will arrive back at Tottenham after surgery

0 2

The Daily Mail have revealed that Antonio Conte is expected to arrive in London at the start of this week.

Conte fell ill last week with severe abdominal pain and returned to Italy to undergo surgery to remove his gall bladder. The 53-year-old was thus unable to take charge of Tottenham’s clash against Manchester City and had to watch the game from his homeland.

However, Tottenham’s assistant head coach Cristian Stellini admitted after the game that the Italian congratulated the players and staff after their 1-0 win over the Premier League champions and gave the players Monday off (BeanymanSports).

The 53-year-old also took to Instagram after the game to state that he was ‘proud’ of the performance that the team delivered.

The Mail have now revealed that, as things stand, the plan is for Conte to arrive back at Hotspur Way at the start of this week, provided he gets the medical clearance to travel.

The report states that the Spurs head coach is expected to lead the team’s preparations for their trip to the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

This is fantastic news for everyone involved. Even though the players stepped up in Conte’s absence yesterday, they need him back as soon as possible, given the energy and intensity he brings.

It was particularly important for the players to have the 53-year-old back for their trip to the San Siro, and it now looks like he is certain to be on the touchline for that game.
