Heung-min Son explains when he thinks he will be able to make Spurs return
According to Korean outlet JoongAng Daily (05/12/22 via the Evening Standard), Tottenham Hotspur star Heung-min Son is looking to play for the club again as soon as possible and is eyeing the Boxing Day fixture with Brentford as his return to action.
Son has endured a difficult first half of the season for Spurs, having struggled to recapture the form that earned him the Premier League Golden Boot award last term. He has just five goals in all competitions this season so far (Transfermarkt).

His season was cut short a while before the domestic campaign paused for the World Cup in Qatar, too, after the 30-year-old suffered a fractured eye in the Champions League game against Marseille at the start of November (Telegraph).
Son faced a race against time to be fit for the World Cup, but thanks to a successful surgery (Telegraph) and a protective eye mask (Mirror), the South Korea star was able to feature in all four of his country’s games at the World Cup.
South Korea crashed to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Brazil last night to end their tournament, and Son already has his sights set on a return to Spurs.
He told JoongAng Daily: “The Premier League is on a break, so I think I should return as soon as possible and will need to play with my mask on. I was born to play football and I am a professional footballer so it’s only right to continue to play even with my mask on.”
On his exit from the World Cup, Son added: “Before coming to the World Cup, I said that I wanted to make this World Cup unforgettable. The team and Korean fans have made this World Cup unforgettable.”

It sounds like Son is eager to get going again for Spurs, which can only be good news for us. While he didn’t hit the back of the net for South Korea at the World Cup, his assist in the Portugal game was a real highlight and hopefully he can hit the ground running for Spurs when league action resumes.
