Arbroath vs Queen’s Park – Match Preview

cinch Scottish Championship – Game 04 – Season 2022/2023

Saturday 20th August 2022, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 3.00pm kick off

Arbroath welcome Owen Coyle’s Queen’s Park to Gayfield tomorrow for our first meeting since April 2018 when a certain Luke Donnelly scored twice against the Lichties at Hampden Park.

It was our debut season in League One, and the Lichties came out on top 3 times against the Spiders with the host’s winning the final game of the season at Hampden 3-0.

A lot has changed for Queen’s Park in that time, and tomorrow’s match will be an extremely tough test against a side full of goals, creativity and raw talent.

There are a number of familiar faces in the Queen’s Park side with former Loanee’s Lewis Moore and Jake Davidson and of course not forgetting Simon Murray!

There is also another huge connection as Scott Stewart goes up against his father, Sandy Stewart, the highly experienced and respected first team coach for Queen’s Park.

Dom Thomas is another player familiar to Arbroath fans, and is one of the many threats that the visitors have at their disposal.

Arbroath will be looking to get over the defeat at Den’s Park last Friday, with the arrival of Scott Allan giving the entire club a huge lift with Arbroath Manager Dick Campbell still looking to bring more new faces in attack.

We hope that you will be at Gayfield in your numbers cheering on the team!

C’mon the Lichties
