It’s true to say that any player has their price and £60m for Meslier would be more than tempting. We could get 3 very good players for that kind of money including a replacement goalie, and that is bound to improve the squad as a whole. I wouldn’t necessarily want to lose Meslier but business is business, there again I can’t see anyone, even the witless Manure, realistically offering £60m.
Even if Bamford is going to be unreliable for the foreseeable future, and it looks as though it’s heading that way, I believe Rodrigo and Gelhardt between them could cover that position, Aaronson moving to the centre with Greenwood as his back up, and James, Sinisterra, Harrison and Summerville covering the wings between them.
