‘It’s right’ – Conte hopes to be in the dugout for Spurs vs Wolves despite red card

0 5

Antonio Conte has revealed that he hopes to be on the touchline for Spurs this weekend against Wolves in the Premier League, despite being red carded last time out.

The Spurs boss came to blows with his Chelsea counterpart, Thomas Tuchel, twice at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, leading to an initial yellow card followed by a straight red for both managers.

Conte and Tuchel were each subsequently charged by the FA under Rule E3 for improper behaviour, although Alasdair Gold predicted that Tottenham may appeal the red card. The FA claimed Conte would have until today (Thursday) to appeal the charge.

The Italian previously suggested that referee Anthony Taylor didn’t understand the context of what happened at full-time between himself and Tuchel, adding that he hoped to avoid a match ban (Football.London).

Conte has now claimed he will learn from the situation and try to keep calm in the future, but he still hopes to be in the dugout for Spurs against Wolves.

He said (Football London): “I hope so. It’s right, it’s right to stay in my place. Then I repeat for sure after this type of situation you can learn a lot but at the same time I think from many situation I was good to keep calm and don’t have an excessive reaction.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

While a straight red for Tuchel refusing to let go of his hand was harsh for Conte, it is hard to argue that both managers didn’t deserve a couple of yellows throughout the match. I suspect Conte will have to take a match ban at some point in the near future.
