Cristian Romero ‘likes’ tweet providing update on his injury

0 5

Cristian Romero has ‘liked’ a tweet from Argentine journalist Gaston Edul, which states the centre-back will be back ‘sooner than expected’.

Football.London reported on Wednesday that Romero had suffered a muscle injury during Tottenham’s 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The report claimed the 24-year-old potentially faced being sidelined for three or four weeks.

However, this has subsequently been contradicted by TyC Sports, who stated that Romero’s injury was sustained by Marc Cucurella’s challenge on him in the first half.

The publication asserted that the centre-back could be back in action in ten days and is expected to be available for next month’s international break.

Gaston Edul also took to social media to suggest Romero sustained an impact injury as a result of Cucurella’s studs and he will be back in action sooner than expected.

The Tottenham defender ‘liked’ the tweet, thus indicating that the information is accurate.

Romero liking this tweet might not be proof that he will be back in action in ten days. The tweet also mentions that he will recover in time for the international break in September, which might be what Romero was endorsing. Either way, it appears like he will miss at least the next couple of matches, which is a blow for Antonio Conte’s men.
