West Ham Claimed To Have Agreed Personal Terms With Target

0 3

The Hammers have sent Nikola Vlasic on loan to Serie A side Torino with an option to buy for £15m next summer and want a replacement.

West Ham have been keen on Vanaken in the past but Club Brugge are reluctant to lose him this summer after also bidding adieu to last season’s top scorer in Charles De Ketelaere to AC Milan.

The Hammers have agreed personal terms with Vanaken and, pursuant to both clubs reaching an agreement on financial terms, could find himself on the way to London Stadium.

Vanaken made 50 appearances in all competitions for Club Brugge during the 2021/22 season, registering 15 goals and laying on 12 assists.

The Belgium international has a contract slated to keep him in Bruges until the summer of 2025 and it will, in all likelihood, take a substantial fee for West Ham to sign Vanaken following the rejection of an opening bid of €10m.

Club Brugge are keen to offer the 29-year-old an improved deal to ward off interest from the Hammers as they view him as essential to their plans.

West Ham started the season with a pair of losses, at home to defending champions Manchester City and away to newly promoted Nottingham Forest, with Brighton coming to call on Sunday.
