Re: Up The Hundred

0 2
I don't follow cricket apart from big England matches and have been to one 1 day game at Edgbaston when i was about 10. However, life has moved on and the generation coming through now want everythign today which includes the result, there was the debate about sports report coming off air and majority of people said you could get the results to your phone so wasn't needed. You think those same people will engage in a sport where the result takes 5 days ? Not a chance.

On another point my lad year had never shown any interest in cricket until played at school hadn't even picked up a bat - he was made team captain. He is in year 7 and now also captain of the year 8 team. In terms of his ability compared to me at the same age i was miles better than him, as i played cricket in summer football in the winter. Kids don't play cricket now.

Overall point being if you want 'real' cricket to survive it will only do so if you atract kids in with things like the 100 otherwise they will just pick up the playstation adthe game will die as its supporters die.
