The former England international told the youngster that he didn’t need to be upset and that they’d meet again.

It was an incredible moment for the lad – who dreams of becoming a goalkeeper himself.

His mum, Charlene, shared the wholesome footage on TikTok where football fans united to praise the precious moment.

She wrote: “When your son gets to meet his hero.

“Tears all round.

“This is what it’s all about.”

Those in the comments were feeling a little emotional too after watching the video.

One person said: “Rangers fan, but I honestly love seeing stuff like this, 30 seconds that’s taken him to make a wee guy’s life.”

Another joked: “8:30am fresh face of make up, ruined, absolutely adorable.”

Someone commented: “What it’s all about, he took 2 minutes out his day, and the youngster will never forget that day for the rest of his life.”

While a follower added: “Awwww so overcome with emotion meeting his hero….I’m greeting myself.”

Meanwhile, Hoops star Jota reckons his wonder goal in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Aberdeen was his best yet.

The fans’ favourite blasted in a stunner from distance to seal the three points against a stubborn Dons side.

It was the Portuguese forward’s permanent Hoops debut having completed a £6 million move from Benfica this summer.

He said: “It was definitely a good moment for me and in my career. I was very happy that I scored.

“The most important thing was that we started on the right foot this season in the Scottish league.

“Now we have to keep working and be better in every game.

“I can’t remember scoring a better goal. This one was probably one of the best.

“I think it was everything, not just that moment.

“Just being part of this football club and the philosophy that now runs throughout the club, I’m just grateful for everything.”
