Report: Senior Chelsea players urging manager to sign £50m-valued forward on Tottenham’s radar

0 3

Chelsea’s senior players have reportedly urged Thomas Tuchel to sign Everton forward Richarlison amidst reports linking the Brazil international with Tottenham, according to the Daily Mail.

A host of clubs have come forward with interest in Richarlison, who has told figures at Everton of his desire to leave Goodison Park this summer (Goal Brasil).

The 25-year-old has since emerged on Tottenham’s shortlist with the Daily Mail suggesting a deal could be worth in the region of £50 million if it was to materialise.

Football Insider claim Richarlison has told friends he wants to join Tottenham this summer, while GOAL report the Lilywhites are set to make a bid soon.

But Spurs’ interest in has seemingly caught the attention of Chelsea, who appear to have plenty of admirers for Richarlison in their dressing room.

The Daily Mail claim a number of senior players in the Blues’ playing squad are urging manager Tuchel to swoop in for Richarlison, citing his ‘aggression and tenacity’ as big reasons to pursue a move.

Richarlison played a vital role in Everton’s campaign last season with his 10 goals in the Premier League (Transfermarkt) helping them retain their top-flight status.

Richarlison’s work ethic was one of the reasons why Everton were able to keep their Premier League status last season.

While he may not be the most prolific of forwards, he always works hard and chases every ball and that could be a reason as to why Antonio Conte wants him at Spurs.
