Fabrizio Romano claims French club are not finding it easy to sign Spurs man

0 6

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Marseille are finding their pursuit of Tottenham winger Bryan Gil to be complicated.

Valencia are thought to be keen on extending Gil’s loan spell at the club, with reports even indicating last month that the La Liga club’s president Anil Murthy had even flown to London to hold discussions with the Spurs hierarchy ( AS -30/05/22 via Sport Witness).

Los Che are also thought to be facing competition for the Tottenham winger from Real Sociedad, according to Mundo Deportivo.

L’Equipe (as relayed by journalist Nabil Djellit) reported earlier this week that Marseille had also entered the race for Gil’s signature.

The report claimed that the Ligue 1 club’s president Pablo Longoria appreciates the winger’s profile and personally made a phone call to Tottenham to enquire about his availability ahead of the upcoming campaign.

However, Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that while Gil is on Marseille’s wishlist, the French club are not finding a deal for the Spaniard to be straightforward.

The journalist added that Jorge Sampaoli’s side have identified AS Roma’s Justin Kluivert as an alternative to Gil.

Gil will likely prefer a loan move back to Spain in order to give himself the best shot of making it into La Roja’s World Cup squad.

Given his exploits during his loan spells at Eibar and Valencia during the last two seasons, I would think that the 21-year-old would have no shortage of offers from La Liga clubs.
