Newcastle United Not Prepared To Pay Over Odds For Target

 

Carlos is wanted at St James’ Park as Eddie Howe looks to rebuild his defence with two new centre-backs.

 

The Magpies have already had multiple offers for the Brazilian defender rejected, but are not going away and it has been claimed that Carlos wants the move to the north east.

 

 

He would treble his wages by joining Newcastle, but Sevilla are keen that Carlos will only leave on their terms and are demanding a high price, with around €50m mooted.

 

While Newcastle do want Carlos, it is suggested they are not prepared to pay over the odds for him.

 

 

The Magpies have other defensive irons in the fire and will not be drawn into paying what they consider to be an exorbitant fee.

 

Carlos is due to turn 29 years old in March and has yet to be capped at senior level by Brazil.

 

 

Sevilla secured his services from French side Nantes in 2019; he moved to Europe from South America to join Portuguese minnows Estoril.
